After poisoning cat& dog food ingredients and toothpaste, now problems with shrimp and fish. It's time to say-- BUY NO MORE CHINESE PRODUCTS !

With home grown meat being stuffed full of steroids to increase growth; genetically modified fruit and vegetables and god knows what used in chemical sprays I would stick to worrying about what your own producers are feeding you

Yeah, I can only imagine what consumers of our (U.S.) exported food products say. I work in a major ag and dairy area in California and know first hand what goes on. Let's just say I head into town when they defoliate the cotton or spray the alfalfa. Otherwise, I'm sick for a couple days. At least now they do most of it by ground equipment. For years, the cropdusters flew right over my house.

Some folks will say just don't buy it unless it is made in the U.S.A. Well, you would do without because simply, it just isn't made here anymore.Company greed and demanding U.S. workers ( benifits ) has priced us out of the market. Many companies are now not offering retirement and health benifits to try to keep costs down. When all the boomers hit 65/66 there will be a big drain on SS and the leaders in goverment will all stand around and ask, what's has happened?
I hear some U.S. companys are now importing cheap paid workers ( under special work status) so they don't have to move the co. overseas.

P.S. I do think workers need benifits. However, new workers need to plan on their own retirement starting with their first paycheck! Medical is another one.

Chinese government taking action...

There are acute issues happening right now with products from China. Hopefully, the Chinese government will ensure food safety now because the country is getting bad press and ill will. They senteneced their FDA inspector to death on Tuesday for corruption.

As for the spraying of pesticides, the genetic engineering of foods - that can be problematic - likely over the long run. (Of course, there have also been all the E. Coli outbreaks in lettuce and peanuts in U.S. produce) For now, though, it seems food (and drugs) from China can be acutely dangerous...

So far I have heard of the following:

• Hundreds of children dying in Panama due to mislabeled Glycerin from China
• Low cost toothpaste in the US being recalled due to poison. Toothpaste imported from China
• "Thomas the Engine" toys are being recalled - Made in China - Lead poisoning possibility.
• Chinese cultivated shrimp and other seafood banned - higher levels of antibiotics found.

What else?


BTW, have you considered how much we are dependent on Chinese products now? US will never be able to not buy products from China. Every other product we buy comes from China, it seems...

• Computers, chips etc.
• Clothing
• Toys
• Everything at WalMart!
