        Comments about Billymach's photos

the first large photo shows the NEWLY finished (it appears) RIU resort - the 3 buildings with the 'cupcakes' on top. Of those 3 buildings, the smallest one in the forground was the old Aruba Grand resort - remodeled to look the same as the 2 new buildings - these buildings are REALLY going to block some of the wonderful view the the old Wyndam Hotel - now Westin (think Starwood) had on that side.

The Westin is also building TS units to the right of the hotel which will be next to the construction of the new units at the Aruba Phoenix....getting to be a busy part of town!

        Love your iguana photos!

Where did u get all those crab legs!!!

I just realized from looking at the pictures again that u were in the 3 Bedroom unit - it looks very nice!
I had the lock-off of that unit for New Years week last year - and the lock-off is 50% bigger then the standard lock-off.
I was on the 7th floor - what floor were you on?

I also see that the Marriott has done away with their lovely nautical themed bedding and replace it with 'hotel style' duvet....at least u know they are being washed

Soon I will be sitting out on my verandah!

Snorkeling up the beach at Malomak

...and sitting on my 'bimini' lounge chair

        Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Pat.....You're right, it really is going to get very busy there. Not sure if that's a good thing. There was other construction going up, when I was there. More shops, restaurants, etc. So, that's good, at least.

So, what kind of view do you think the Westin is going to wind up with? There will probably be a small number of rooms with a really good view.

            Looks pretty darn nice....

and the property is not 'deep' between the ocean and the street so the resort will be 'wide' affording really nice views.

Here is something you and I will NEVER see - a 3BR lock-off!
Look at the patio space and private hot tub - appears those units will be on the far right side of the building.
The 3,172-square-foot, three-bedroom, three-bath lockoff villa offers you a variety of vacation options and plenty of personal space. It comfortably sleeps up to 10 adults.

            and a 2BR lock-off - that splits into a 1BR and a studio
At 1,312 square feet, this two-bedroom, two-bath villa sleeps eight adults comfortably and includes a fully equipped kitchen and plenty of vacation options.
Even the studio lockoff has a washer/dryer 432 square feet*
1BR side is 880 squ ft

            and a 2 BR non-lockoff
The two-bedroom, two-bath villa sleeps up to six guests. With 1,729 square feet of living space, it has its own living room, dining area and a fully equipped kitchen.

                      Are buildings 'C & D' open?
Have they moved the Kids club over there and expanded the gym in the check-in 'B' building yet?

No. The building construction is completed. Looks like they are fitting out the interior, and putting the finishing touches on the landscaping. I did see a kids playground over there, but no kids. I was told this would open in december.

Have they re-landscaped the pool area yet to provide additional lounge area? Any updates as to whether they are going to build another pool that they were talking about?
