Here at Gurneys - in the Fore Castle Building on the second floor...what a wonderful balcony with an ocean view.

I am moving tomorrow to the next building - Promenade Deck - the building size looks the same but instead of the big balcony, the interior is bigger - I guess this is how they 'make' 1BRs.

I am also eating my yogurt with a carrot for a spoon because all there is is a coffee pot and mini-refrigerator...will email DH to bring paper plates and some utensils.

Great internet service - poor cell phone - only 1 bar!

Pat try the Chinese restaurant in town it was pretty good it;s on the 2nd floor. Also ENE is nice. The deck on that room was nice, Glad you can make use of it.

We went to that Chinese restaurant, too. It's on the right-hand side of the main drag as you drive north. I think it's about a block past the round-glass coffee shop place. The staircase to go up is on the outside of the building. The Chinese restaurant has a sign saying they will cook fish that you catch to order for you. Pat, get whatever fish special they recommend--I think we had fish with ginger sauce, and it was really good. The fish was very fresh.

Oh, I think it's this one? I have no memory of the name, but everything sounds right.

Montauk's only Chinese restaurant. Open year-round. This restaurants specialty is "You hook 'em, we cook 'em". They will prepare your freshly caught fish in one of many classic Chinese styles. A menu of vegetarian dishes, local seafood and traditional pork, chicken and beef dishes as well as sushi round out the options. Yep Wacky has the right place, The appetizers were good, Egg roll, Fried and scekiwan won tons and the Chicken in Sesame and Orange flavor was very good and plenty full.

Pat if you want to see a nice sunset got to the Montauket at about 5pm on a sunny day. It is not easy to find but you should be able to if you follow my directions. Go as if you were going to Gosemans dock. As soon as you pass Montauk Manor you will be going up hill. In the middle of the hill you will see a light pole on your left. Make the left there followed by another left. go about a half mile and when you get to what looks like a fork it is on your right side right there. If you went to the Lobster farm you passed it. BTW the view at the Lobster farm is very nice as well. Food at the Montaucket is reasonable but it is like a bar atmosphere.

The resort needed rooms for a conference on Sunday and Monday night so I took a deal to come back on late May/June for a 3 night stay.....my DH was going home on Sunday already - I was going to drive to work from here on Tuesday....so I am missing only one day.

In May, I can stay the full 3 nights/4 days

So I am 'double dipping' at Gurneys.
My friends can still come and stay on Tuesday-Thursday this week .... and I get to come back in the spring.

I went to the Chinese Wok N' roll in June and they let me pick the fish I wanted and told them how I would like it prepared, this was about 1 pm I wanted it for Dinner about 7 pm, I think they close about 6 pm so I place my order and pick up about 5:45pm
They had every thing package and waiting
very acommodating and friendly

Frank, is the Montaucket the place you sent us to see the sunset? Like a rustic fishing bar with a back seating area on the water? On the back road that was hard to find? The sunset was spectacular!
