  • Do you recognize this grill?

    What company makes this grill?

Thanks in advance for any clues.

      It's an item on Craigslist

The seller is having twins. Understandably, she is slow in replying to e-mails. I'm eager to know, so I'm posting here and there.

It looks like my BIL's Ducane.

            I don't think it's a DUCANE . . .

The Ducanes use round thermometers and the one on this one is squarish. Also, notice the oval logo, it does not look like Ducane's.

It does, doesn't it! My eyes opened wide when I saw it on Craigslist.

It's weird, it's got both an oval decal or logo thing on the "dashboard," but rectangular ones on the two covers. Are there any big grill dealers by you? You could call and ask what high-end manufacturers they carry, then google them.

Could it be a "Vermont" grill? It looks a little bit like them.

If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.

BTW, I'm still keeping track of how many times you annoy me.

I've been pestering the dealers and manufacturers. Ducane was quick to reply! Maybe I should buy one of their grills . . . .

No, Vermont never made a six burner grill.

This is sort of like a scavenger hunt. Maybe I should offer a prize?

FWIW Weber bought Ducane a year or so ago. My Weber Genesis is on it's 13th year and still chugging along. Not bad for a $600 grill although we thought it was pricey back then.

I thought it looks most like CalFlame--but do they make freestanding grills, or just the kind that fit into islands? What's the drawer thing underneath? Is that an OVEN?

It has a sort of homemade evil-genius quality, this grill. You don't think someone could have made it, do you?

In any case, it's quite a grill. It's like the Hummer of grills!

I'm only slightly ashamed to admit that I googled and found the ad on Craigslist. The asking price would make this grill pretty much the bargain of the century.

OK so what is the hemi-grill going for? Don't worry I won't buy it!

I have a local dealer down the road that has showroom specials around this time.
