  • Opinions about TS4MS

Hi everyone. I haven't visited this site for a long time -- shortly after it started, actually. I was away from checking any timeshare-related websites for a while and am now sort of back on the scene.

I wanted to ask people in general how they feel about this BBS versus TUG. I don't just mean which they prefer, but what are the main differences between the two groups?

In your own words how would you differentiate them?

This topic has been gone over many times since you've been away. We try to stay away from us-vs-them discussions. There are advantages to both sites, and many of us visit TUG regularly, and participate on their boards also. Stick around, decide what you like about TS4Ms, and use us as a resource for those aspects. I think you will like it here also - visit us often and welcome back!

If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.

BTW, I'm still keeping track of how many times you annoy me.

Welcome back. As Jackio says, the two BBS are both wonderful sites full of good info. Many of us participate on both sites and prefer to abstain from any us & them debates. They are both great resources in my opinion. The major difference that I observe is a less formal site here at TS4Ms. The rules for postings are slightly more relaxed. There seems to be a greater interest in RCI and the Marriott system over at TUG. But there is plenty of discussion here as well. There is a dedicated forum for SFX over here which I find very useful. People share a lot of travel stories here as well which many of us enjoy. As a west coaster, much of the discussion at TUG is of less interest to me since so many of the posters are owners of eastern timeshares. I still read all the info, though, since I may wish to travel there at some future date. The more I learn, the better, I feel.

Personally, I enjoy both sites & visit both daily.

Perhaps a defining answer could be gained by posting the same question over Yonder.

I think Jackie's post says it all.

Just so you know normaly this thread would be moved out into the Steam room but because you only have 7 posts I will leave it here for now. If you find it missing , You will find it after you get to 100 posts and are able to view the members only forum.

Thanks for this thoughtful answer. That was the sort of perspective I was looking for, unlike the "spend many months here and you'll see" variety. My initial question specifically stated that I wasn't asking which group was better -- I just want a sense of what regular visitors to this group like about it and how things have evolved since way back when.

I regularly visit both sites and moderate a tiny little board on each. If I have a "hard core" question, I bring it here. I think the level of experience in timesharing here is second to none.

The community at TUG is larger, and that has its advantages as well. I also really use the TUG review section, which at this stage is much larger.

                      I like it here better.

Without going into specifics, in my experience the people over here are more laid back and less likely to name call and such. It's more of 'live and let live' space for me. I'm more likely to state my true opinions over here.

Happily, there is something for everyone and you can find the stuff you're interested in on one site or the other and quite possibly both.
