Cost depends on the area. Different cities have different prices. I believe the Fort Lauderdale/Palm Beach book is $35 while the Las Vegas book is $25. Lately they haven't been that great of deals IMO. The restaurant selection has been sliding for several years. In looking at the 2008 books online this may be the first year for a long time that we don't buy an Entertainment book. I haven't purchased one for our hometown in maybe 3 or 4 years becasue there weren't any coupons of interest for us.

        hmmm... that makes the average price $30 -$7 -$7 = $16
It's easy to recoup that in a day.

But of course there is a difference between total coast and average cost.

I agree that it should be easy to recoup that cost in a day but, most of the discounts I looked at online this year were 20% off rather than buy-one-get-one-free. The last book we had continued to buy was the Las Vegas book and I won't even be purchasing that one next year thanks to the 20% discount rather than the 2/4/1's.

With each passing year I've had more difficulty getting the worth out of the books unless I wanted to enjoy the fast food coupons and those increase the girth of my waiste line. The cost of going one size up in blue jeans pretty much chews up the value from those coupons.

But when it comes to this pittance average/total is good enough.

              Good Deal!!!

Thanks for heads up, Spence...I use to purchase in previous years but number of quality participating restaurants has steadily declined here in the greater Boston area. However, with $7 rebate my cost was only $13 with free shipping!!! If I use it once I break even....If they still have local $5 off monthly dry cleaning coupons its really a deal!!!
I also bought my son the LA edition as a Christmas stocking stuffer...
Hopefully he'll use it to find some new restaurants out there and save some himself a few bucks.... (And even if he doesnt use it, I'll use when I visit him )
              Best wishes,
              Paul

Thanks for the tip. I've never got the book before but I checked out some coupons and it looks like I could get my money's worth on the very first use.

We found the Wisconsin Dells VIP Discount Book which we got as one of the perks for taking the TS presentation at Bluegreen Xmas Mountain Village in may 2007,with many 2for one dining and attraction coupons to be vey good. There was a $24.95 price on the cover & a similar book is available thru Wisconsin Dells #1 Family Vacation Destination Guide. Is the one for Williamsburg,Virginia good value?

today's paper said $10 off and free shipping.

It is not worth it at all for Wisconsin Dells, two restaurants are left on punch card. One has stopped serving dinner, the other offers only 4 items outside of the buffet, which is not included with the card, and then they tell you they are out of what you want.

I do better buying a $10 dells fun card. I used it 10 times last year for a cost of $1 per each two for one.
We did buy the Nashville book, if you are going to Nashville, that book is really worth it. I do't know how there can be such a difference in the amount of coupons in the books.

In May 2007 from our book we were able eat out each day using 2 for one coupons. We also used several 2 for one attraction and discount shopping coupons. For us it was good value.

I wonder why the Wisconsin Dells book from bluegreen, the Dells Fun Card, and the Dells coupon book can all get merchants to participate, and the Entertainment book cannot. We tried to use the Quizno's coupon in the Entertainment book (Madison/Wisconsin Dells edition) and they refused to take it saying it was printed without authorization, yet they honored the Dells fun Card coupon and told the owner they had so much additional business because of it.
