Missed it! Fooey. But again...no bookmarks on SanDisks, right.

And since I won't be doing anything with photos or video, 4GB is probably overkill.

I actually bought an RCA mp3 player on Woot a year or two ago and it never worked right. So I'm a bit leery of buying another from them. Although their customer service is actually decent. I'd rather spend a bit more and get one from Amazon or a B&M store.

Yes, there are no bookmarks, but they are listed as recommended on the site link you provided. I'm second guessing my decision to buy.

I'm thinking audio books on cassette tape are really fine for my purposes! I guess I'll remain in the 20th century for now.

You know, I have a friend with THREE iPods. There must be a million people out there who have old mp3 players that would be fine for my purposes. Maybe Goodwill is the place to look!

Cassettes worked fine for me until I got a new car with no cassette player. I had to look high and low to find one. Finally found a cheapo at CVS and got a power thingy that plugs into the cigarette lighter. The sound stinks, but there are still a lot of books on tape at the library so if I can't find a CD, I get the tape.

Our older car has a cassette player and a CD player, but the CD player is touchy and can't be replaced because the car is so old they don't make the right size anymore. The younger car isn't any too young either, and it only plays cassettes.

We have a CD Walkman and an FM transmitter (somebody here helped explain that to me, maybe Steve? Thank you, Steve, or whoever it was) and the sound is okay.

A lot of libraries and stores are clearing out their audio books on cassette...which is too bad, because cassettes are perfect for audio books. They stay where you leave off in the story! And of course it doesn't matter that the sound is less than magnificent.
