I have had it with our Standard Pillowcases. Trying to fit our oversized pillows into them is a pain. Does anyone know where one can find oversized pillowcases for Full/Queen size pillows?

I checked the above company websites out and they don't list oversize pillowcases, just the same standard sizes. Am I the only one that has problems fitting these modern day pillows into the pillow cases? I have some old pillows - feather - that my Grandmother made and they fit fine, but the nice ones that I buy today, don't. They are not feather or down pillows. I have done several searches on the web, but didn't come up with anything. What I am after is a pillowcase that is bigger around so that the pillow fits without being compressed.

I believe you need king pillowcases and you can buy them seperately. We usually always get our sheets from Penneys. Here I found you some and they are even on sale

jlwquilter,
Good idea, will talk to my wife about making some, if we can't find any. The King are to long and the standard are to narrow.

Dee, I think you mean the pillows are too plump for standard cases. If that's it, you can open up one side seam of a standard case and insert a gusset, then resew along the two sides of the gusset. It won't look perfect, but it would be okay if you keep the "good" side of the pillow up, and the pillow would have more room to breathe.
The pillows don't need a LOT more room, do they? If you want it to look better, you would dissect the whole pillowcase and insert a strip of fabric (maybe a solid contrasting fabric?) along both side edges and the short seam, then resew.
It's a bit of an unusual problem, actually. I guess we're all wondering what kind of pillows don't fit into a standard case...are they some kind of super-duper-high -loft pillows?

I have a set of instructions (no pattern needed) that uses one yard of fabric (pick your favorite - holiday, flannel, cotton sateen, etc.) and it makes one professional pillowcase. I mean with the cuff at the case opening and everything. I haven't made pillowcases in 2 years so would have to look for the directions if anyone is seriously interested.

I have the same problem! It seems even worse with our king pillowcases. I bought new pillows and have to struggle to put them in the pillowcases that came sheet sets. As a stomach sleeper, I need a softer one, so I bought an expensive down pillow. When I put it in my pillowcase, it is too BIG. I get a "crick" in my neck. If I sleep on it without a pillowcase, it is perfect. I have seriously been thinking of buying an extra sheet to match the ones on my bed and making my own pillowcases.Phyllis
