  • Re-reading old posts, the power of words, and air-conditioning

So I'm taking my daughter to London in June (spur of the moment decision) and have been working hard to find a flat to rent with air-conditioning. Some folks had commented that I probably won't need it since England rarely gets that hot.

Today I found my old posts from when I took my son to London in 2006.

I remember that it was hot. I remember that it was really hot. But I didn't remember that it was ***that*** hot. I forgot that they measured the temperature on the tube at 112 degrees. I forgot that one day we read books in Starbucks all day because we couldn't bear to be outside. I also forgot that it was really hard to even sleep in that heat!

Chance are it won't get that hot again this summer, or maybe ever, in London again! But now I don't feel as nuts that I wanted to find a flat with air-conditioning!

(And thanks to Frank and Ken for keeping our old posts around!!)

Funny you said this about keeping the old posts. We have never archived since the start. But as of just Yesterday I was on the phone with Ken and the day is coming that we will be archiving old posts soon. It is no rush but we will be doing it to save server space. We are not deleating any posts just filing them for easy access later.

I need forewarning on any archiving. I search RCI ex-ops for all manner of things since I lost my data here on my computer.

Will let you know but we have time, it is not on the top of the list of the things to do.

We were in England July 05 and it was also VERY hot. I had not packed appropriately and actually had to buy cooler clothing.
We were at the Allen House and did miss A/C, although it was bearable.
