Sorry Lawren but I did not see any Forest Hills stuff. There is a treasure trove of other NYC Nostalgia in this website. I am sure the Webmaster and his friends will get around to Forest Hills in the future.

Surely you must be know about these stables in Queens.

Bill, that was so cool , I just sat with my wife looking through the pics. My MIL condo is pictured as is Our Lady of Hope School which many will be going to the Wine Tasting this month. I went to the stables twice to do horse back riding, I believe that is where the Shop and Stop store center now is. If you look in the Middle Village pics you will see an old corner store with the word Tailor lit up. That place is now a real nice Wine and Appetizer bar.

      Billy thanks so much!
The stable in Fresh Meadows is where I bought my first horse from. The last photos are of the horses from the 2 barns in Forest Hills where I rode and worked from the time I was 11 until about 20.

If any of you want to go out on a trailride the owner is still a good friend and we wouldn't need a guide to go out.

The last photo reminds me of the time I tied Sage <1st horse> to a parking meter and went in for a slice of pizza. My friends came and left his halter and lead tied to the meter and hid Sage back at the barn.

There are many wonderful places in the world, but one of my favourite places is on the back of my horse.

I love that site. So much rich NYC nostaglia, and history. The guy that runs that site does tours as well. He keeps it updated and is always adding new stuff. So glad you can relate to the content in that site. I always check back every few weeks!!!
