If you are eagerly awaiting your Federal Economic Stimulus check to fund this summer’s vacation, the IRS has your has released the following timetable for mailing them out:

Last 2 Digits of SSN - Date Check Will Be Sent
00-09 - May 9
10-18 - May 16
19-25 - May 23
26-38 - May 30
39-51 - June 6
52-63 - June 13
64-75 - June 20
76-87 - June 27
88-99 - July 4

And one thing I didn't realize is if you had your refund direct deposited, that's the way this rebate will come as well. So, it looks like we'll get ours in the next couple of weeks.

This list is for checks that will be mailed. Direct deposit's will be much earlier than the mailed checks. I beleive the list for direct deposit rebates only stretches through may. For instance, this list shows us getting our "check" in June. According to the IRS since I used direct deposit our check is suppose to be recieved May 16th.

One other thing to consider is the size of the check. While the news has often reported the checks to be $1,200 for couples, they often fail to mention that the amount is likely to be less depending on your income. For instance, our check will only be $600 because of the amount of wages we made last year. I suspect many people will be surprised to find their checks are somewhat less than the news media reports. It's sort of like those big signs in Vegas that say up to 98% return around slot machines. It doesn't mean they all pay 98%, it just means that they pay up to 98%.

The stimulus checks was talked about today on CNN and Bush made a statement that the checks are coming early!

If your tax refund was sent to your checking acct you might have your money starting this coming Monday.

I also was going to pay 2009 maintence fee's but the boss decided a new couch and rug for family room more important!

Guess who won that battle and by the way the new sectional is nice!

We're planning on putting our check toward next quarter's estimated income tax. How depressing is that.

Rebate Check

Right now it's 10:20 EST my wife was online about two hours ago and a deposit for $1,800 eff. monday showed up in our checking accnt.

That's exactly what we are supposed to get for our rebate -$1200 for us plus $300 per qual. child.

What I still want to know is if this is 2008 income or a straight deduction from the 2008 tax refund you might get next year.

I asked my tax people three months ago and they had no answer.

Either way it seems IRS is just loaning our own money for next years taxes!

I really hope I'm wrong and one of you straigtens me out!

Good, I'm going to buy a big bag of rice and fill up my tank. That should take care of my check.
