  • INVEST TOOLS;Any info on Stock Market tool?

Saw an infomercial this week about a computerized stock market investment program having a local presentation this friday near me. You always hear that you can't time the market and wonder if this is a realistic investment tool. The website is investtool.com or investtools.com and doesn't go into who much they sell the program for. Has anyone had experience with this company or product? any info would be appreciated. seems like these things really come alive when the economy is in the tank. garyd210

    It is Investools.com

I have used it for 4-5 years. I am the user group leader in the Minneapolis area.

Like any good tool, you need to know how to work it. They sell education-that is their product, how to invest in a down market, an up market, using options, technical and fundamentals tools, MACD, Moving Averages, Histograms, etc.

Their training has different degrees, like collage, and costs about as much: PhD is about $20K. There is a LOT offered at that level, so don't run away at that price. I don't have that level and I still do okay. In fact, I am a low level.

They also provide web site service using their tools. That is pretty cheap, about $50/month. It has charts and searches better than any other program that I have seen or used. I have also used VectorVest, and I don't think VectorVest comes near the power of Investools.

I am going to Chicago in July for a class on options, but with another outfit. The more education a person can get, the better trader they can be. The better the that tools are used, the better the trader they can be. The more they take emotions out of trading...have I mentioned that the better trader they can be.

Investing is not for everyone. Don't be afraid to attend one of their 2 or 3 hour sessions. Think about your time you would need to invest in training and the time to research stocks, and the costs, but also think of where you might be in 5 years. You will not get rich quick, but there are people in my user group that trade for a living.

If you do make the investment, be sure to open an account with Thinkorswim. You will be able to have great links between Investools and TOS with a single click.

      Thanks!

Thanks! I did see something about PHD's on eBay when I was poking around trying to gather information. I have a friend who is about 65 who was using it and I was concerned that if anything happened to him, his wife would be out of luck trying to figure what he had invested in. My DW wouldn't have any interest until the check arrived. Thanks again, I may just attend for the basics of it. Gary
