I just received a call from VISA's fraud alert on DH's card! There were two charges on his card that he did not make yesterday (while he was in dialysis)...so it's shred his card this week. Last week it was MY Visa card and two weeks prior is was both our AMEX cards! We have all cards in our possession, so they got our #'s somehow. The one on my card last week was an on line purchase to EHarmony for $175...I told the gal that I've been married for 56 years and I am not about to try and train a new one!!
We are both ready to turn in our cards and carry cash and wonder "Why Us?" Thank heavens for the CC companies watching for strange charges. But they never questioned MY on line charge for flowers for my Mom for Mother's day. Go figure!
I seldom have to show any ID when I use my card and they seldom check my signature...just glance at my card. A drug store clerk did ask for my ID and I thanked her. At WalMart the other day she didn't even check my card. She said the register will tell them to check or not check, so I must be OK. I told her, "So how do you know it is MY card? You didn't ask for ID". She just shrugged. Guess it's time to start my own campaign of pulling out my driver's license and my credit card.
