The only one I knew for certain was Dum Dums, from my home state of Ohio. But other than that I guessed and got 50%.
I thought the quiz would be on a wider range of goods. Food is tough since brands have shifted ownership so many times.
Hard to judge any more. My Corolla is probably more American than a fair share of the Fords or GM's on the road. I am drinking a Molson that was probably brewed in Colorado but owned by a South African / Canadian / American JV. My cable receiver was made not too far away from my house but probably programmed by Indians and Chinese.
Well, I only got 4 correct but I have only purchased 2 of the brands listed in the entire quiz! Both of which are American owned although probably made in Sri Lanka or Mexico. I went to buy some lightbulbs the other day....every single brand including ones I've never heard of are made in China. If I want to boycot I have to use kerosene lamps or take up candle making as a hobby. There is almost nothing actually Made In America anymore. All we do here is provide services such as massaging or cleaning or repairing of stuff made somewhere else or we sell stuff made in other countries or are paid to shift wealth on paper around from one spot to another. It's a real challenge to try to buy American products when there are so few.
Try buying groceries that are only local or at least American produced. There is a new law in Calif that requires country of origin for produce and meats. Very enlightening! Since I have been buying certified organic for several years I no longer buy most American stuff anyway. Europe & Mexico are years ahead of the U.S. on food standards.
