  • $5 Worth Of Gas

Its almost the end of the month, and I found myself a bit short, but my gas tank was running low, so I decided to go to the gas station and get $5. worth of gas. I went into the store and asked the cashier for $5. worth of gas. He farted and gave me a receipt!

At that rate my 7 year old son could be rich!

You are lucky, you are not buying diesel at $4.69 per gal in Virignia.

                  Wtf!!! Holy !@#$@#

I stopped on the Thruway today on 14B Airmont in Rockland County. Freakin $4.50 a gallon for regular at the Exxon Station. I did not dare fill up. Just put in 6 gals to get me to New Paltz. When I got off at New Paltz it was $3.99. The van took still took another 26 gallons. Still over $100 bucks to fill up. I am sorry but that Exxon station was a rip. How can the be a swing of .50 cents / per gallon.

Lawren you must be familiar with that area? Please stay away!

The dollar is sinking so what do you want? Europe has paid these high prices for many years already. Big cars and SUVs are out. I wouldn't like to own a big motor-home either. I am afraid, it will get worse unless we get energy independent.

I saw 2 big Winnebago's on my trip today! 10 mpg! Those RV's are gonna cost mucho dinero!!!

But even the European's must be feeling the effects of $130/barrel oil! Just look at Airlines tickets. This oil stuff is not just a Dollar effect?

Yes, they do and my sister blames it on us (the USA). It is supply and demand world-wide. It may no longer be pegged to the dollar even though it says so. We are a sinking ship.

We just returned from a two week vacation in California. Just in time for Memorial Day (and our drive home), gas jumped to $4.29 (it was $4.05 2 days earlier). As soon as we crossed the border into Arizona (at Needles), we could fill up at $3.59 a gallon.

And how sad the $3.59 sounds like a bargain

I just got back to Cape Cod from driving to baltimore for a few days with DB. On the Jersey Turnipke 5/21 (Wednesday) gas was 3.649 per gallon...today a full 4 days later is was $3.739.

On the Merritt Parkway it was $4.27....

My 2005 Accord EX was getting almost 36 mpg on the trip. I was thinking about trading it in on a Toyota Yaris or on a Civic hybrid, but honestly how much better could those really little cars do? And of course the Accord is paid for.

I was amazed at the number of motor homes I saw on the trip and the number of trucks (Ram 2500, F250's,)pulling trailers with quads and motorcycles....at 4 bucks a gallon.
