Just finished a bag of Alto Grande that my wife brought back from a business trip to Puerto Rico. We usually drink Kona at home, which we buy from a small coffee estate on Kona. I have 3 pounds shipped to me each quarter.

When heading into work I usually stop by the local Starbucks and order a cup of their Pike Place Perk.

But my favorite of all time has to be the coffee's we were served while in Italy. I've been unable to find their coffee's duplicated anywhere in the U.S. I almost would return to Italy just for the coffee.

I agree. I really enjoyed the coffee served in Italy, & Spain. I loved their longos. (SP?)

BTW, I'm still keeping track of how many times you annoy me.

OK, heap on the abuse, I'm ready!
And you probably like apricot beer, as well. That bar of soap likely permanently damaged your taste buds.

Yes! I was wondering if my fave would turn up here. We don't have Tim Horton's by us -- so whenever my family comes down from Toronto, they bring me a tin.

And, when I'm out, I like Starbucks cafe au lait.

Sounds as if the coffee is a bit of an afterthought
This is REALLY about the rum, isn't it!

                  Porto Rico Coffee in Manhattan

My favorite for home brewing is:

Organic French Roasted Peruvian Fair Trade & Bird Free

from Porto Rico Importing Co. in Greenwich Village but easily available by mail.

I buy whole beans (Porto Rico has sales in October and April) and my coffee maker is a grind and brew.

Admittedly, I use a cheap 4 cup coffee maker, but I'd consider nicer equipment and/or a change of my methods if I were sure it would make a difference. As of now I've pretty much resigned myself to drinking lesser coffee at home.
Do you use filtered water? We use to use filtered water here at home. Now we just use tap water since the water company made improvements to their filtration system. However we've noticed a taste difference in our coffee while at a resort, etc. The only difference made was the water. Now we take a water filter with us wherever we go.

Locally I get either Tim Horton's or Dunkin's....just the garden variety flavor.
I have a Senseo machine and that coffee is just OK to me.

                          No birds in your coffee???
Seriously though...what does bird free mean? I know what dolphin free is for the tuna, but have never heard of "bird free" for coffee.

Once in Mexico I bought a can of coffee [brand will remain nameless] and when I opened it there was a feather inside the can.

African coffees are my favorite. I find that any single origin coffee is a treat. My favorite coffee is Kenya AA from Caribou Coffee. I think that they roast the bean lightly. This brings out the true coffee flavor.
