Just finished a bag of Alto Grande that my wife brought back from a business trip to Puerto Rico. We usually drink Kona at home, which we buy from a small coffee estate on Kona. I have 3 pounds shipped to me each quarter.

When heading into work I usually stop by the local Starbucks and order a cup of their Pike Place Perk.
But my favorite of all time has to be the coffee's we were served while in Italy. I've been unable to find their coffee's duplicated anywhere in the U.S. I almost would return to Italy just for the coffee.
I agree. I really enjoyed the coffee served in Italy, & Spain. I loved their longos. (SP?)Angela
If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.
BTW, I'm still keeping track of how many times you annoy me.

Porto Rico Coffee in Manhattan
My favorite for home brewing is:
Organic French Roasted Peruvian Fair Trade & Bird Free
from Porto Rico Importing Co. in Greenwich Village but easily available by mail.
I buy whole beans (Porto Rico has sales in October and April) and my coffee maker is a grind and brew.

My experience is just the opposite -- never tastes as good at home. Admittedly, I use a cheap 4 cup coffee maker, but I'd consider nicer equipment and/or a change of my methods if I were sure it would make a difference. As of now I've pretty much resigned myself to drinking lesser coffee at home.

Seriously though...what does bird free mean? I know what dolphin free is for the tuna, but have never heard of "bird free" for coffee.

African coffees are my favorite. I find that any single origin coffee is a treat. My favorite coffee is Kenya AA from Caribou Coffee. I think that they roast the bean lightly. This brings out the true coffee flavor.
