The funds have been in limbo for four days now . . . not at BOA and not at the new Trustee, Discover bank. BOA's delay has cost 1/2% on the new CD.

6 days since I presented (in person) forms and requested the funds be wired, and they still have not arrrive at the new account yet.
This is just a small amount of money, but so far BOA has cost me $178.

12 days since I instructed BOA to close the CD and transfer the funds to an already-set-up account at a new trusteee, with all the necessary acct. & ABA #s, tollfree phone # and Case ID number to confirm my instructions . . . & 11 days since I delivered the required forms in person.
Now the CD has reappeared at BOA, with no funds sent to the new trustee.
Of course I have been working on this every day.
Since BOA has stopped replying to my online messages, I called them yesterday and had to speak to 5 people. They all had it wrong and the last one started talking about a $50 transfer fee, an early redemption penalty (because she had the marturity date wrong).
I called back and another supervisor said everything had been taken care of, that my request had been escalated.RCI Member Since 24-Aug-1989/150-plus Exchanges***THE TIMESHARE GRIM REAPER~~~Exchanging/Searching/SW Florida/MO/AR/IA/Consumer Advocacy/Estate Planning/Sports/Boating/Fishing/Golf/Lake-living/Retirement****Sometimes ya just gotta be a dick

As of today the funds have not arrived at the new bank, 23 days after I told BOA to close the account and wire it.
During that time the new CD has gone down 1%, and I will get the rate the day the funds arrive.RCI Member Since 24-Aug-1989/150-plus Exchanges***THE TIMESHARE GRIM REAPER~~~Exchanging/Searching/SW Florida/MO/AR/IA/Consumer Advocacy/Estate Planning/Sports/Boating/Fishing/Golf/Lake-living/Retirement****Sometimes ya just gotta be a dick

BOA stopped payment on the check they mailed and the funds finally arrived at Discover Bank 1/17, 32 days after I presented everything need to close the account at BOA and instructed them to wire the funds.
In the stack of mail when we got home from FL was a check from BOA made out to me and Discover Bank, exactly the opposite of my instructions, since it was a trustee to trustee transfer.
I have sent a letter to BOA requesting that they pay me the present value of what their screw-ups have cost me in reduced interest rate on the new CD. They did settle with me for what their screw-ups cost me when I opened their CD last Spring.
Isn't BOA one of the banks that has taken some of the $300B bailout, and that has disappeared into a deep dark hole, unaccounted for?RCI Member Since 24-Aug-1989/150-plus Exchanges***THE TIMESHARE GRIM REAPER~~~Exchanging/Searching/SW Florida/MO/AR/IA/Consumer Advocacy/Estate Planning/Sports/Boating/Fishing/Golf/Lake-living/Retirement****Sometimes ya just gotta be a dick

I guess BOA figured it was about time to get back to me.
I just got a call wanting me to show the interest rate on my new CD, what it would have been and what it is, and the term.
She said they screwed up but she just wanted to confirm that it cost me money, and do the math.
Don't hold your breath.

Quirky, BOA does not allow email for normal business, which hampers effective communication.
Now, suddenly, with the Resolution Department email is OK.
Doesn't make sense.RCI Member Since 24-Aug-1989/150-plus Exchanges***THE TIMESHARE GRIM REAPER~~~Exchanging/Searching/SW Florida/MO/AR/IA/Consumer Advocacy/Estate Planning/Sports/Boating/Fishing/Golf/Lake-living/Retirement****Sometimes ya just gotta be a dick

I guess I get a bit of the Bailout money. I guess when they want to do business, timely, they can:
We have done an interest adjustment for 354.84, which represents the different of interest rates (0.98 % from 1/16/09 to 1/16/16) on the closing balance of the IRA. We are cutting a check to Discover Bank and will overnight the check to them to IRA funds already sent to them.
I apologize for all the difficulty that you have had with your accounts.

Free At Last!!!! Free At Last!!!!
Today I redeemed the last of our BOA CD's.
Now our only tie to them is the RCI Elite Rewards account they inherited from MBNA.RCI Member Since 24-Aug-1989/150-plus Exchanges***THE TIMESHARE GRIM REAPER~~~Exchanging/Searching/SW Florida/MO/AR/IA/Consumer Advocacy/Estate Planning/Sports/Boating/Fishing/Golf/Lake-living/Retirement****Sometimes ya just gotta be a dick

Wow!
And I thought I was alone in my BOA frustrations. Unfortunately I have got 3 mortgages, 2 credit cards (got an RCI transferee too) and my checking and savings with them so moving anywhere is such a nightmare.
The only positive I can say about dealing with them is being able to see all your accounts online in one place. But when things go wrong...........
Yikes.....
I guess after reading all this I won't roll over my 403B money to them. Hopefully by that time my rentals are paid off and I just have to deal with tenants and toilets not BOA reps. I don't know which is worse.

I had rentals, toilets, etc. too. Easy to deal with them than BOA.RCI Member Since 24-Aug-1989/150-plus Exchanges***THE TIMESHARE GRIM REAPER~~~Exchanging/Searching/SW Florida/MO/AR/IA/Consumer Advocacy/Estate Planning/Sports/Boating/Fishing/Golf/Lake-living/Retirement****Sometimes ya just gotta be a dick
