Hi. Please clarify if these two forums are the same organization. I posted a topic on TUG and posted it here, too, hoping for some answers from both sites, and saw a comment "duplicate post on TUG." Thanks. I'm a bit confused.

We are not the same as Tug. I own the site and Frank and many others help run the place. The purpose of this website was to combine Timeshare discussions with other NON-TIMESHARE topics to allow for more of community type website.
We are trying to make this website pay for itself BUT this site is not a business built with the intention of replacing an income unlike some other sites. We also receive NO FUNDS from the industry so this website is paid for by users making this website a site BY OWNERS FOR OWNERS.
Hope this helps,
Ken

If you got that comment on TUG it is because you posted the same message twice on TUG, in two different forums.
They have a lot of rules, many of them unwritten, and they spend a lot of time enforcing them, thinking the site would fall apart if they did not. Enforcement of rules Over Yonder are inconsistent and personalities tend to get in the way. You just have to learn as you go.
Many of those here are here because of the more relaxed atmosphere, without having to worry so much as to whether you are doing something someone else does not want you to be doing.RCI Member Since 24-Aug-1989/150-plus Exchanges***THE TIMESHARE GRIM REAPER~~~Exchanging/Searching/SW Florida/MO/AR/IA/Consumer Advocacy/Estate Planning/Sports/Boating/Fishing/Golf/Lake-living/Retirement****Sometimes ya just gotta be a dick

You might take into consideration when reading these replies that one of the somewhat negative respondents was banned from TUG. We have decided that posting negativity towards TUG will not be allowed here. Many of us post on both sites and a few of us also post on the UK site, Timeshare Talk.

Good reminder, Tony. Let's remember that negative attitudes toward TUG are not shared by all of us, and many of us here are also mods there. This means that we believe in both sites, and voicing negative opinions about how TUG is run is offensive to some of us others.
Contrary to what has been expressed here, "they" do not spend "a lot of time enforcing" rules. The rules are pretty simple and few, and if you can manage to behave like a civilized adult, it's unlikely that you'll ever run afoul of them.
If all would behave in the above fashion, the "time" that is spent "enforcing" the rules, which seems to be a problem to some posters, would be greatly reduced.
