What do you do for brown spots in your yard caused by your dog? We had a big area in back of the house before and it wasn't a problem, but now we that we have moved her fenced area is a lot smaller and she is killing the grass where she goes to the bathroom.

I have watched tv shows with lots of suggestions, but the big one was not to fight the problem and put it something other than grass. Not what most people want to hear, but when you have that kind of problem, you just can't fight it.
You could put in mulch (wood or even rubber but not cocoa mulch). You can have an area of sand or small gravel, or even concrete.
With a smaller problem, you would first flood it with water. The problem is that the spot is urine is urea (more or less) so it is over fertilized. Loosen up the dirt, add grass seed and water. Keep the seed moist until it starts growing. Keep the dog off the new grass.
I am lucky with Steffi, she isn't too bad on killing grass. It is only the winter that is a problem because her short legs won't go through deep snow, so her loving dad makes paths. Those are the areas that get killed. That damage is either the cold killing the unprotected grass or the yellow snow spots.Don
