Any of our TS4MS in Fla. this week? Looks like there might be some actions from TS Fay as it develops into a possible hurricane. Warnings are out to review plan of action.

Wedding in Miami
Leaving NY this Thursday night and scheduled to arrive 1:00AM Friday morning to West Palm Beach airport then to Marriott Ocean Point. Hope that we miss Hurricane Fay.
We will be staying till the following Thursday and have a wedding to go to on Sunday August 24th in Miami. Both bride and groom live in NY but wanted wedding in Florida.
When we were invited we said yes, but why Florida during Hurricane season???????
We then figured we would combine this with a timeshare exchange and vacation.LARRY

Larry, Jimmy explains it all here:
"Trying to Reason With Hurricane Season"
(Lyrics:J. BUffet)
Squalls out on the Gulfstream,
Big storms coming soon.
I passed out in my hammock,
God, I slept way past noon.
Stood up and tried to focus,
I hoped I wouldn't have to look far.
I knew I could use a Bloody Mary,
So I stumbled next door to the bar.
Chorus
And now I must confess,
I could use some rest.
I can't run at this pace very long.
Yes, it's quite insane,
I think it hurts my brain.
But it cleans me out and then I can go on.
There's something about this Sunday
It's a most peculiar gray
Strolling down the avenue
That's known as A1A
I was feeling tired, then I got inspired.
And I knew that it wouldn't last long
So all alone I walked back home, sat on my beach
And then I made up this song.
Chorus
Well, the wind is blowin' harder now
Fifty knots of there abouts,
There's white caps on the ocean.
And I'm watching for water spouts
It's time to close the shutters
It's time to go inside.
In a week I'll be in gay Paris;
That's a mighty long airplane ride.
Chorus
Yes, It cleans me out and then I can go on.

And how about those of us who LIVE here?
We are getting continuing updates on Fay and told to prepare. For the first time in 31 years I don't have to worry about our ex-Key West daughter, who is now living with us, and how safe she will be. After church this morning I noticed all the gas stations had lines, WalMart's parking lot was packed full (although school starts here tomorrow). Our son works at Publix and he said yesterday his store was extremely busy and he volunteered to work on his day off today (OT pay) stocking shelves. I asked him if he would be coming here to stay (he and our oldest DD live in South Ft. Myers) and he said he thought he would just go to the store...big generator and lots of food and probably a TV set! That is IF Fay turns into anything serious. Hope all the rest of the Floridians (Tuggers and non-Tuggers) are ok.

My wife and I live on the east central coast. Projections *at the moment* look to be tropical storm rain and wind, followed by lots of raking and picking up of fallen tree limbs and branches.
We just replaced our roof last November. When I zoom in on our house in Google Maps, I can still see the slightly-different-colored area where we replaced a bunch of shingles that got torn off in the hurricanes three years ago!
After one of those storms, power was lost on one side of our street, but not the other, for days. Those of us on the lucky side ran power cords across the street so our neighbors could at least keep their refrigerators running until power got restored. Cars had to go really slow. It looked really strange when we rolled down the street.

And I keep this National Hurricane Center URL in my browser's Favorites list for quick access to three- and five-day projections:

Hi Sam,
I was just down your way last week.
Had some nice meals at the World Beat Cafe, The Yellow Dog in Palm Bay (doesn't look like much, but it's a pleasant surprise -try the onion crusted chicken- The Yellow Dog Cafe, Fine Dining on the Indian River), Roberto's and a shandy at the Bulldog Pub in Cocoa Village as Meg O'Malley's is still closed.
It looks like you may be spared from the full brunt of this, but will still get the strong effects.
Stay safe.
Beags.
Late edit: World Beat Cafe Sorry, I had to correct the name.

No offense taken...I, too, feel sorry for those vacationing down here when ever there is a storm of any kind here, or when we have a 'cold spell'. It's not fun for them. I just worry about 'anyone' down here when facing a hurricane, and hope all will be OK .

We are getting DUMPED on here in Melbourne. The storm has been stationary for almost a day. We've already gotten 24" of rain and it's still coming. We are watching the water level rise up and up and up. Both in the back yard from a pond, and in the front from the street. Many roads are closed from flooding. We're advised to stay indoors, and ask for National Guard evacuation if needed.
We think we've got about eight hours before the water level hits the house doors and garage. So we REALLY hope Fay decides to pick up speed and move north!
See ya'll, Mike
