I just got off the phone with him, First time I spoke to him in 2 days. he has called but he always speaks to his mom and forgets me. He asked me to get him a large USB Flash drive and he just told me that he bought a 5 gig external hard drive from radio shack. Of coarse he he paid to much. He has no idea what prices are yet or the value of money yet.

Frank, it does get easier. Celebrate the fact that he has made it to college. When we dropped our son off at college in Northern Vermont, I thought we would never survive. A couple of weeks later we drove up for his, mine and our daughter's birthday (all in a row over three days), and he was already so involved with new friends and the college life, that he wasn't chomping on the bit to spend the whole weekend with us. I was upset, but my husband told me it was testimony to the fact that he was making a fine adjustment. As a teacher, I can tell you about many students who can't make the break and end up returning home the first semester...You want them to be involved in their school and make new friends. Similarly, our daughter couldn't wait to say good-bye and begin her college life. Today, they both have good educations, great jobs and have found wonderful mates. It has been difficult to let go and this is one of those "passages" times in life. But we have to learn to move on and rejoice in their new found freedom. We live next door to a family whose 30 something year old kids have never left home, nor found steady jobs.......While I don't get to see my kids as often as I would like, I am proud of them each and every day and know that letting go was necessary for them to realize their full potential.

Ahhhh, Frank--what a nice looking, clean cut young man! I know how hard this is for both you and your wife. Let him fly and before you know it, he'll be on his way to see you! This is a time you and your wife can have some "couple" time!
