  • cigar question for Frank

Frank, you seem to know a lot about cigars and you lead me to some good prices last year for a gift for my husband. He loved it.

I purchased Romeo Y Julieta vintage. I was smart enough to save a wrapper so I can get some more this Christmas (he only smokes them when we travel or he's golfing).

When I look online I see this cigar listed as vintage 1 through vintage VI. They go up in price as the number goes higher.

Can you tell me the difference?

    Thanks,
    Anne

Can you show me a link to which Cigars you are looking at, The standard Romeo Vintage is numbered 1-6 and the differance is the sizing. Holt's Cigar Company - Everything cigars since 1898

Now there are Certifed Vintages which you can find here http://www.jrcigars.com/index.cfm?page=cigars The smaller the # the smaller the Cigar

Thanks Frank, that makes sense. I saw the many varieties on jrcigars.com. I don't know how to to links, sorry.

I'll stick with the number 1 because I think he prefers the 6 inch size.

      I appreciate your response.

The #1 is a 6 inch 43 ring which makes it a skinny cigar. The way it works is 6 by 43 , the first number 6 is the length and the second number being 43 is the ring size. Does he like Skinny Cigars, I generally never buy anything under a 50 ring although a 48 or 49 ring is some that I do buy.
