Quick drying socks/underwear for traveling

Next April we expect to take one small backpack on wheels each. Walmart sells them for less than $30 and they have three zipped compartments. We'll also bring at least one medium size luggage on wheels but either leave it or ship it to England to pick up before we leave on cruises.

My husband is looking for socks that dry quickly.

We'll have 10 days moving around, then 5 weeks of timeshares. I am guessing we will do laundry at least once during each TS week. But he doesn't want to pack 7 pairs for daily changes.

I'm figuring we'll always stay at least two nights even during our first 10 days. He thinks it would take more than 2 days for his socks to dry without a dryer.

He likes crew style and usually wears think cotton socks which would take too long. He also wants underwear that dries quickly.

The best we found online are Nike Dri-Fit Half-Cushioned Crew Socks. Any suggestions for anything better.

You may want to check out Under Armour.
We use a lot of their light weight apparel for winter sports. Great for wicking and dries quickly.
Have not tried their socks but the brand is carried in most major sporting good stores.

I always travel with one of those super absorbent "miracle towels." When you wash out clothes, roll them in the miracle towel and wring them out. Then beat them on the floor, stomp on them barefoot, etc. I guarantee they will be dry by morning, and so will the towel. The towels fold very small, so its not that much extra to pack.

You can't go wrong with Tilley clothing. It's fast-drying, comfortable and very durable. I recently bought one of their newer line of pants. It has the expandable waist, which is great when you are trying all kinds of exotic foods!
