  • Hold on to your pants! Here comes Ike!

Living in Houston, it looked like Ike was heading south far enough where we were going to miss most of the fun. Instead, it looks like Ike is coming to visit locally.

We are doing all of the preparation we can. We have food, camping gear and fuel, will be filling bathtubs and all containers as full as possible. Our cars are topped off.

Now it's time to hang on!

I am glad you are well prepared but I hope that it is for nothing and that it will not be that severe. Best of luck and be safe, Mike.

Might be time to move out. I saw a warning today that folks in your area should prepare for several days without electrical power. Doesn't sound fun to me.

I've been working in Arlington Texas this week. Hopefully my noon flight out tomorrow will be well in advance of any bad weather.

We'll be thinking of you and your neighbors.

Make sure you have some clean water frozen to put in an ice cooler to drink as it melts. We do this so we can have cold water and it also keeps the other stuff in the ice cooler cold too.(We have weather atleast 4 hurricanes that took out our electricity) This way you do not have to open the refrig and things can stay cooler longer.
Please check in so we know how you are doing. That is as long as you have power.

Please stay safe, and a belated Happy BD. Just talked to my sil who lives outside Dallas and she said they were expecting up to 20 inches of rain. I think the state of Texas is in for it. I hope you live on the other side of Houston and not near Galveston. Hugs, Shaggy

You've been on my mind since I heard where IKE was headed.

I sure hope that Ike doesn't give you too much of a headache. Stay safe. Please let us know how you manage, we will be keeping good thoughts!

Take lots of pictures for us as I predict this is going to be a storm everybody is going to be talking about for quite some time! The surge is going to be a nightmare or so it looks...
