  • Investment Advice in this tough market

If you had purchased $1,000 of Delta Air Lines stock one year ago, you would have $49 left.

With Fannie Mae, you would have $2.50 left of the original $1,000.

With AIG, you would have less than $15 left.

But, if you had purchased $1,000 worth of beer one year ago, drunk all of the beer, then turned in the cans for the aluminum recycling REFUND, you would have $214 cash.

Based on the above, the best current investment advice is to drink heavily and recycle.
"If a Nation expects to be ignorant and free in a state of civilization, it expects what never was and never will be.... If we are to guard against ignorance and remain free, it is the responsibility of every American to be informed."
-- Thomas Jefferson to Col. Yancey, 1816

Forty plus years ago, my father would take a couple of us kids out to the country roads, drop us off. There would be one of us on each side of the road in the ditch and he would drive down the road. We would run in the ditches with a bag in hand and pick up cans and bottles, throw them in the for recycle. When the bag was full, Dad would pick us up somewhere down the road. Dad also used us as dogs to flush up phesants too. One time duck hunting, he shot me.

      Oh the good old days.

No, I was in much better shape than Cheney's hunting partner.

          But that is funny.
