  • Briggs and Stratton Good Customer Service

Oftimes when we talk about bad customer service at certain companies, it is said that that is what has happened at all big companies.

    Well, not all.

I need a carburetor primer bulb for one of our old lawnmowers (cuz DW refuses to use it anymore cuz it is so hard for her to start ). It is one of those things where you find the numbers on the engine and then look at an illustrated parts list online.

I found 2 primer bulbs, one that looked like ours and one that didn't, but not enough information to be sure which one to order. A customer service rep said it was for sure the one that didn't look like ours.

It wasn't. I sent her a message saying that. Yesterday she called to straighten it out, but I was on the golf course. She emailed me an 800# and Ext # to call here at 8:00 this morning.

I did. We both agreed that I needed the other one, and a nut to hold the assembly on in case I ruin the one holding it on now, redo-ing it.

All that costs more than the one she sent, quite a lot more, but she is sending it all, gratis.

And, she spoke English . . . apparently as a first language.

    There's still hope.

Waaaaay back when I was in high school, I did the lawn mower service for Montgomery Wards. I went to the B&S training for a couple days in Wis. I remember them as being a good company, really working to make sure the service people understood the product and could help the customer get back up and running quickly.

Glad to hear they are still a good company.

Wow that was good customer services. Please do not call DELL Computers for tech support, you will not talk with anyone from the USA.

It's kinda funny, but yesterday at the golf course I got 2 customer service calls, this one from B & S and one from Timeshare Closing Service, Inc.

You notice I did not post about the second, about how good it was. All I was wanting them to do was acknowledge that they had received something that ask me to send, and it was a a big deal to expect them to do that. It was like whattya want now!!!! Finally they said they had, and I said Thanks and hung up.

Another funny, when the B & S lady called yesterday, of course she assumed I was at home. Actually, she called just after I hung up with TCS, so I was a little out of sorts. She asked if I could see the illustrated part lists. I said no, but I can see a fairway, and trees, and a green . . . So we had laugh together.
