    Bump.

    Still chuckling.

Yeah, quite a few limos in Branson, really . . . not many gourmet restaurants, though.

OK, I gotta ask . . . for y'all taking a limo to drop a couple hundred bucks at a foo-foo restaurant . . . during a normal one-week vacation at a timeshare resort, how many times would you do that. Like every night?

We have a private Limo driver named John that we have used for the past 3 times going there, We use him because he is very reasonable. He will give any friend I recommend the same courtesy he gives me. The last time I was there we just used him for RT airport, I had booked him for a night out on the town but my wife was not feeling well so I canceled that 2 hours before pick up. The year before we were with 6 people and used him every night for 3 nights. That included the day tour of Katrina damage and RT airport. He charged us about $600 but we gave him $700 with the tip and that included the Martini and Rossi Asti Spumonte in the plastic cups which I asked for prior.

OK, what I really want is the free limo to Golden Corral... or really a similarly priced restaurant.

Now that's a viable alternative, dude. But I still want good glass for the Asti.

BF: Again, A limo and a gourmet dinner every night?

How about others who selected gourmet restaurant? When on a timeshare vacation is that the way you dine every night?

Yes and yes but only when we go to New Orleans. We have done it in Atlantic city as well. We do not do rent a limo in other areas but when we travel we try to hit the best restaurant's the area has to offer.

On the one hand, I'm more of a fun bus kind of guy, but on the other hand I might tip the bus driver $100 to take me anywhere besides Golden Corral.

Since this poll/pole has run it's course, I guess I can speak my mind.

For a site that posts so much about saving money and discounts, etc., I find it inconsistent that so many selected limos and gourmet dining.

We all know what restaurants are jammed at feeding time and what parking lots are empty. We all know where the tour buses go (where the bus driver eats free ).

The same is true whatever vacation destinations we travel to. Well, maybe Kauai was a little different since there weren't any/many of the chains when we were there . . . but the busiest restaurants were not what you would call gourmet.

Makes me inclined to run a poll/pole on how realistic poll/pole results are.

FWIW, the GC here in the Branson area is exceptional. We don't eat there very often, but it is always very good. It claims to be the largest in the world and you have to time it to avoid the feeding time frenzy and the tour buses, which have their own entrance.

                                There is also live entertainment.

They also catered the entertainer's Christmas party we attended, and the food there was good.
