I found a site that lets you call any phone number in the US and Canada for free: bueno.com. It looks like you can use them to call other countries but I have not figured that one out yet. I use Skype to call Europe and Canada but there is nominal fee to call mobile phones and landlines. This service is free.
I did have one problem with it but once correced it works fine. For some reason you have to key in the address before saving it in favorites. I had used a link and then saved it. Then when I hit the link, explorer would shut down and then reopen the bueno.com page. I am not tech savy enough to know if this means I now have some kind of spyware on my computer but the calls work fine.
