        I think I got the first of these alerts three years. If my memory is correct (which is far from a safe assumption) that means we're now up to about 1000 weeks in which all cell phone numbers will be going public.

              I started getting junk text messages. Only a few people have my cell number, so I don't know where they got the number. Our carrier said there was nothing I could do about it - even though I have to pay for each one. I had to have texting blocked. It doesn't seem fair to be forced to pay for incoming texts. You have no control on stopping the sender. At least with phone calls you can choose not to answer.
