    401k has gone 301k, 201k, 101k.

I am looking for a new term for IRA.

    Anyone heard a good one?

I heard someone referring to it as the 01K. If you are still at a 101K, you must be doing well.

W O W !!!! Our 401k has done very well as it keeps growing! We are in the Government Bonds & we have nothing but good news. Looks like it'll keep on its track moving upwards as it has done for many years in the past but not once did we lose any money, even during these past months with the ecomony & Wall Street!

Your a little late Board Grul, our 30 year old Daughter moved-in with us last August & we are an "Old Couple" since we are on our retirement & Social Security pension! Our Daughter has no job, savings, nothing but a dog but things are not what they used to be which I'm sure you are very much aware of. She is trying to get a job but you know that story as well!

We earn interest income Tax free every month, averaging $200 a month for all of last year, December being the lowest of all twelve months. I,m not bragging as I have read a lot of horrid statements from people here on this forum & the "Other" forum, loosing their earnings as well as interest percentage. We are lucky so far as not withdraw these funds from the account but as time goes by, who knows what's in the future for any of us!

Consider upgrading to Daughter 2.0! Comes with own retirement assets, insurance (health, life, car, disability...), investment accounts above the -0- line, a reasonably decent job...

Wow -- stock market is up almost 20% since March 9th. Glad to see a little positive news finally!

Indeed! I'm back to 2006 levels in my personal portfolio. 401K, not so much.....

I was at 2006 at beginning of the year, now it back to that level. Feel like Tax, work the 1st Q for free. At least it is not taking more. Be interesting to see if it can hold, now that there will be a lot of bank regulation come out, so maybe in some near future, we will see a much stable foundation.

I'm back above the 2006 level as of today's close, mostly due to cashing out most of my stocks before the shoe fell and getting back in half way in the past few months. Dividends in many cases are higher than CD rates and have tax advantages plus a capital gain looks to be likely in the future.
