Not bed bugs but I just stayed overnight at Westgate River Ranch (FL)timeshare (studio unit - 9B) and the master bed had FLEAS. Found this charming fact out at midnight and had to call for a new room assignment... which they did after a staff member checked to make sure I wasn't making it up.
I wasn't.

I had no idea pets were allowed at this timeshare but apparently they are. I was told, when I asked that during the flea caper, that some rooms are designated to allow pets. In fact the other side of this unt had a barking dog in it for the first few hours of our stay (between 8-10pm-ish). The people came back and the barking stopped.
We have several more overnight stays booked at the resort as it's very convenient to where we ATV ride. Generally the timeshare rooms have been good. I will now have to call on Thursdays - when they do their room assigning - to request a non-pet room.
We've had to deal with flea infestations twice. Once in a house we had just bought (took a few months to realize the problem) and once recently when the renters moved out of our rental house. We buy this powder stuff from a store called Do It Yourself Pest Control. You have to "pound" the powder into the carpet using a stiff broom. Let it sit for several hours, then vacuum it up. Repeat treatment a few days later. It's time consuming to do EVERY carpet area in a house, but at least the stuff works. The flea bombs and such never worked at all for us.
