  • Two interesting things with my FF miles

I checked my Delta FF miles, and mine and my husbands both had 1 point credited to our account to extend the expiration date. Never had that before.

Also, my daughter recently traveled US Air, and by mistake put in my FF number with her name. My account was credited the miles, which was great for me because they were to expire in July. I don't know if this went through by mistake, or if it is possible to do this on a regular basis.

    I'm happy!

How did you get the 1 mile?

When people linked their NW miles to Delta, and then transferred over miles, some old NW miles fell into Delta's expiration that NW doesn't have. People were given that mile to extend any miles transferred into Delta account that now fall under new rules (including an expiration date).

My 1 mile says "expiration extension". I did the NWA link, but mine and my hubbies was extended, but not my daughters account.

It was done automatically, per the info I read on flyertalk.

Yup, automatically. I am very happy because I was close to expiration.

My wifes expired at the end of April. She had signed up for an Amex credit card well before then. Well they didn't process it with my wifes FF number and they created a new skymiles account for the AMEX. After being on hold forever and talking to 10 different people they said they would merge the two accounts to the new number and "try" to reinstate the miles.

Well they didn't merge the accounts and she also got the magical 1 mile to extend the expiration date. Now she has two accounts and I guess we get to spend hours on the phone again.

                  Delta sucks.
