  • Unexpected views at The High Line in NYC

The High Line is a great new outdoor space downtown, on the water in the meatpacking district. The Standard Hotel has apparently added a surprise element...

My friend's office faces the Standard. We're thinking an investment in a telescope, amortized, would be a big savings over pay-per-view cable

        Given that information I'll make sure I don't check-in.

This is TOO funny and a bit deja vu.

My company's SF office was in the Embarcadero and our windows faced the Hyatt Regency Hotel in one direction and an apartment building in another. Both were the equivalent of a block away.

When I first came to the office, I wondered what the telescope over by the window was for, but was quickly informed..

Turns out they had many sightings from the hotel occupants, especially of women coming onto the balcony, nude, eager to look out at SF.

Also one tenant in the apartment building had a variety of women over - generally the same time of day and day of the week (Thursdays, around noon lol ) and my officemates enjoyed watching their escapades.

I've walked the Highline and thought of this when I went by the hotel; I looked at all the rooms, but saw nothing (it was a weekday mid afternoon).

You can also get a bit of a show from the View Restaurant and Bar at the Marriott Marquis Hotel in NYC.
Part of the 'route' takes u past the windows of the "W" Hotel....and people seem to think if they are high up, no one can see them
