We were at LAX one time waiting for a flight to Hawai'i when a woman threw a fit (not nearly has dramatic as this one) after missing her flight. In this case the woman had been sitting in the boarding area, with her boarding pass in hand. We did see her sitting by the gate, ready to board. She apparently was in the last group of rows to be boarded.
As usual, the gate attendant announced they would board the aircraft by rows, and to please wait until your row number was called. When they were reached her group they gave the usual "now boarding all seats and all rows" instead of calling out that last group of row numbers. The lady didn't get on, so she said, because she was still waiting for them to call her row number. So she said she sat there, patiently waiting for her row number to be called as they went through final boarding call, then closed and secured the door.
Then she looked out the window and saw the plane was pushed away from the gate and heading out the taxiway. At that point she sprang to life and began wailing that she had missed the plane and it was all their fault because they didn't call her row number.“Maybe you shouldn't dress like that.”
