No, it is/was a real dog and yes it was the winner of the ugliest dog in the world contest... I did not hear that the pup was dead however

This is a real dog? Notice how it is trying to chew it's own leg off? I have heard of "coyote ugly", but I thought it was chewing your arm off to get away from someone else, not yourself.
