From everything I have heard or read the biggest problem is who wins most times.
It seems that the people that buy the most tickets are the ones that can not afford it. Most not the smartest people and winning a lotto doesn't make you smart but rich!
These people go on a party run that last for years until they are broke.
Most people would give to their families and make sure their children are taken care of and buy their house of dreams. Probably take their family on few nice vacations.
All of this is nice and probably can be done with couple checks if you decide to have 25 years of checks which for many would be smart thing to do so you know you will have income for twenty five years.
For the people with some knowledge of handling money they could probably do everything they could want for the first couple million and invest or save the rest for their kids and grand kids.
It all comes down to the type person that wins and most stories turn out bad for a reason.
