We just got the shocking news that State Farm has dropped our Wisconsin home. the claim for a lightning strike that totalled our well did it, they went back 11 years and said we have too many claims. a total of $5000 in 22 years)
The hitch, it is a second home and most insurers won't insure a second home in Wisconsin. We have been getting no's all morning.
We have had State Farm 30 years in Illinois, 5 years before that for renters insurance, 22 years in Wisconsin, 6 years in Florida, plus three cars right now and hvae had 4 cars over the years.
We finally got an estimate from Auto Owners Insurance company and would actually save money. I guess we won't have any choice, but would like some input.
Also, if we switch our Wisconsin auto, we would save another $130 on the premium and also spend less on auto insurance. The other two cars are insured with State Farm in Florida and the homeowners in Florida was renewed for 2010. Our Florida State Farm agent was shocked when we told her the news.
