USB Keyboard and Mouse Stopped working

Hello All:
My desktop mouse and keyboard simple stopped working. I have tried different ports and different keyboard and mouses. Also shut down and restarted. Nothing.

Since I can't navigate around how the heck to I fix this thing? I assume it must be a windows driver issue. (running Vista)

Is it wireless? If so then change the batteries.

That happened to my laptop when none of my USB ports worked; it turned out to be the logic board. Forunately it was under warranty......

I would guess either a driver was screwed up or there is a hardware problem in the computer. If you could reinstall drivers, that may solve the problem.

This happened to my son's desktop and laptop, We lucked out with the lap top but the desk top well

Check to see if other things still work on your usb ports if it does that is a good thing if not then you are better off looking for another lap top, also if there are more than one usb ports you should try them all. If one still works then you can buy a usb multi hub.

Back date your computer to when the key board and mouse still worked.
