Surely that should read "Take a look at what can be done with a standard camera and some very expensive and powerful software and hardware" It's not the sort of result the average 'man in the street' could create easily themself.

Equipment and software $450.00 + Camera Canon PowerShot SD800 IS 7.1MP Digital Elph Camera with 3.8x Wide Angle Image-Stabilized Optical Zoom
        $450.00 for a total of $900.00

That is not to expensive. You could probably use a cheaper camera and the lower version of the GigaPan. The total rapped up into the low end.$450.00 -$500.00

I'm a thinking there is a problem. Maybe it is the way it loaded for me, or the picture got chopped up somehow during the creation of this. Just an odd picture that I hope will show up as you view it.

If you frame the picture with the President on the right, and Mrs. Bush on the left side, find Mr. Bush. Look about 4 people straight to the back (vertically) from him. Aretha Franklin is there in her bow hat. On my view, she has a beard. It looks as a picture has shifted and she has a guy’s body. To the right, (behind the guy in the grey hat) there is a black hat floating in air.

Great picture, high detail, but can you trust what you see? When you combine 220 images as were done for this, ‘oops’ happens.

It's the hardware that I was referring to. From other reports I've read about the construction of this type of image it does require top end processing power and lots of time.
