Everyone said that when I got a virus . . . the thread's still here somewhere . . . but that is not the case.

You must not have had it long or it would not have worked. If you catch it before it has really done it's dirty work then sometimes a restore to earlier date can work.

(PS: another tell tale sign you have it is that your clock goes to 24 hour format. If that happens and you didn't change it then System Guard/Smitfraiud got your pc)

Hirens is a valid web site that offers a free repair cd image and more. It is a valid site (Google it & be sure). Once you find the correct link download & create the bootable cd & many things can be fixed that are often screwed up in Windows.

anti virus action remove/ smit.fraud

i have sucsessfully removed it by running tdsskiller to get rid of the root kit and running malwarebytes... all in safe mode.... run tdsskiller then reboot back into safe mode and run it again sometimes itll find something else after reboot.... then run malwarebytes.. also dont forget to turn off system restore first
