Now all you can do is send out to those people a note saying what happened. You can change your password but the person has your email address's all ready. What I do is put in a fake email address that does not work like asdfgh@whateveruwant.com this way if my email addresses get hacked I will get a return email telling me that asdfgh@whateveruwant.com and since I did not send it I know right away I was hacked
This also could be a trojan that has exploited a security break and is spoofing your address and sending mail to those in your address book. In that case may not be an individual and you could block it from doing further damage by catching and removing the trojan. This could especially be happening if you use Outlook Express as your mail client. Check your virus scanning software and make sure it is up to date and then run a scan.

I have been at the Waterbury Inn Timeshare and have been using their computer. This is where the breach probably happened. Some people are being bombarded with emails, all spam, ads for viagra, Canadian health care etc.
If you have not been using your own computer but just logging in to your email on another computer, then I agree with Tony. Go to another computer and change your password as soon as possible. Although, who or what ever is spaming by your addressees may already have your address book in which case I am not sure what you can do.

When you used the public computer, did you delete your history, TIF, cookies, before you ended your sessions?

Make sure to unclick on "Remember me on this computer"
If it allows, after logging out, go to Options and do a clear cache, clear cookies, and clear history. (and of course Clear Password!)
Try logging back into Yahoo mail and see if it auto-populates your password and make sure it doesn't.
If you are ever in doubt, after leaving the computer, go to another one and change your password. The new password can be as simple as adding an additional digit or character at the end of your old password.

Years ago I had an email account with Prodigy.net. Recently, several emails were sent out under my my old email address at prodigy. I can't believe they have that email address active and that they don't have some control on it. I think (but not sure) that AT&T may own the company now. I can't even find an email address to complain to them.
My hotmail account got hit, still have that one, and I ended up deleting all the addresses in it. I do have my comcast email addresses and email address book. I hope that doesn't get hit.
