  • Need Help Accessing Email

    Can anyone help me get back into my email. I suddenly started getting this error message:
    There was a problem logging onto your mail server. Your Password was rejected. Account: 'Optonline', Server: 'mail.optonline.net', Protocol: POP3, Server Response: '-ERR [SYS/TEMP] Service Temporarily Unavailable', Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 0x800CCC90, Error Number: 0x800CCC92.

    I have Outlook Express 6/ Windows XP. I tried following the tech support procedures on the Microsoft Support page but I only got confused. Any and all advice would be much appreciated. Charlie

    Have you tried calling the tech department of your Internet provider? They are usually very helpful troubleshooting an issue such as that.

      Me too, Charlie - I am unable to get optimum email on my Blackberry (since 3pm yesterday) and could not log into the account directly from the website (did not try this morning yet) I guess we will both have to break down and call them.

      I will post if I find out anything....I think I will PM Glitter as she uses that service as well.

        We are aware that some Cablevision customers are currently unable to access their E-mail accounts and are not able to log in to certain sections of Optimum.net.

          Email is up and running again. Anyone else who had been affected should be back in business. As Pat indicated it must have been an Optimum problem which should now be corrected. Thanks for the responses and the input. Charlie
