  • using blackberry to access internet on laptop

I swear I read somewhere that it is possible to get the internet on your laptop using your blackberry. Now I can't find the information. Can anyone help?
    Thanks,

if you go to crackberry.com, there is a lot of information about blackberry and internet access and programs available to tether laptop to blackberry and get access without the verizon fees. Not sure what has been happening lately on that site, but verizon does want that extra money and (allegedly) will drop you if you use that other program to access the internet without paying them a fee. Again, I haven't checked this for a long while, so not sure what may be the talk on this now.

I have a Blackberry Curve with T-Mobile and I am tethering it with my laptop and I have not had any additional charges.

I spent so much time making this work today - of course I should have looked here.

I finally was able to download the right software at VZAccess Manager, which has both Windows and Mac versions available. First had to call Verizon to add tethering service to my plan - $20/month for 2gb. I can shut it off when I get back after the weekend.

Also using a USB cable from my BBerry to my laptop.

The idjits at my local Verizon store told me I didn't need anything once I added the tethering package to my plan.
