Looking at getting a new LT, and the new old printer I just picked up, here's what HP says when I searched for a 932C driver. Is this for real, that a new OS would have a driver for a printer that old?

The drivers for your HP product are already included in the new Windows 7 operating system! You do not need to download drivers to use the product. Keep reading to learn how to install the drivers that are included in Windows 7 (in-OS drivers) with your HP product.

With the Windows 7 driver, the buttons on the product might not function and some of the advanced product features are not available. However, using the workaround procedures in this document, you can still print from a software program.

Yes, but the drivers for older printers tend to be a more generic driver and may not support some of the printer-specific functionality. All HP printers "speak" the same basic language, so HP can include a generic driver that will output that language and it will work with most older printers. That will generally work for 99% of your printing needs, so you should be set with that driver.

Now maybe it's time for Jim to trade in that 1931 Packard for a new car.

Been looking at Edsels, although I have always fancied Avantis.

Seriously, who did not ever want an Avanti?

          Metropolitans are cute, too.

Yeah, I could see picking up a hot Drake chick in my Metropolitan.

Anyway, this would explain why the 880 driver in Ole POC runs my new old 932.

Oh Yeah, anyone need two brand new HP 23 color cartridges?

Oh Yeah 2, don't play with your inkwell thingy.

Hey a high school buddy of mine had a Metropolitan convertible and we picked up 6 girls one day. It was a bit crowded.

I installed a 932 driver in DW's LT, and it now uses the new old 932 printer. For Ole POC I have it using a parallel port and DW's LT is using a USB.

I set the 932 to be her default printer, but when I checked her printer settings just now although it had the 932 checkmarked as the default, her other printer showed as being "Ready" and the 932 as being "Offline".

              Hmmmmm?

This is pretty advanced for me, sorta like trying to understand TPU's.
The 932 is working with Ole POC, but not color. Should I risk uninstalling the 880 driver and installing the 932 driver?

Or should I just let it be?

                Or, get something new(er).

I am almost ready to send you one of the two printers I am no longer using. They are old to my standards but probably new to yours. That may not be a bad idea. You would get something that works (and would come with a supply of ink and I would get rid of a printer). Wonder what it would cost in shipping.

Which would leave me the same problem . . . should I uninstall 880 and install a driver for a(new)nother printer.

My new old printer is working fine . . . with DW's LT, with the 932 driver. I don't need any more printers.

But on temperamental Ole POC, if I uninstall 880, I may wind up with no printer with it. Now I at least have black.

ah the days of few choices. As Mr Ford was quoted as saying "Any color you want as long as it is black."

I remember how attached I was to my old Canon multi-use printer. I believe it was the same size and weight as a mini-fridge but what a workhorse. An operating system upgrade sent her to an early grave.

Perhaps I am not saying it right. The OS is not a concern. The printer I got will operate even with WIN7.

My concern is . . . since installing the 932 driver to Ole POC seemed to screw it up . . . should I risk Uninstalling the 880 driver to see if that is why?

If I did, and the 932 driver screws it up again, then the printer won't work at all with Ole POC.

Whereas, if I leave it along, at least I will have black.
