  • $288 Dells LTs

I've seen TV ads for a website offering Dell LTs for $288. I didn't write it down figuring I would google it. But, google does not find it.

    Anyone else seen the ads?

Are you thinking about Dell Financial Services? I understand they sell laptops/desktops that were previously used. There are some coupons out there as well, check this site: Dell Financial Services coupons, Dell Financial Services coupon code, deals

Some of the computers come without operating system.

      Nope, that's not it.

It seems it had Dell in it's name, or 288, 0r 144 (PC price).

I figure if you can't google em, they aren't much.

        Any opinions?

Dell Latitude D620 Notebook PC (Off-Lease) at CircuitCity.com

        Amazon has them even lower.

None of my Dells ever came with Microsoft Office. I would be pretty surprised if any brands did. I purchased a student/teacher version and have loaded it on all our computers.

FWIW I am typing on an Inspiron 15 laptop. It has an extremely sensitive touchpad that I have not been able to disable. I wouldn't buy another. Also has a high gloss interior that drives me nuts because it shows every fingerprint, cat hair and dust mote.

I have disabled the touch pad on my Dell laptop as things sometimes went haywire when keying the keyboard and I prefer a mouse. I think it can be done through the control panel (under category "mouse") Now if I could just get the message that it's disabled to stop popping up everytime I sign on.

Tony if you can talk me thru disabling the touch pad I would be in your debt forever. The wacky jumping cursor will be the reason this laptop dies an early death.

I'm thinking I would like a word processor and a spreadsheet. Of course, I am familiar with those in Works.

I have disabled the touch pad on all my Dell laptops and I don't get any messages. It is very easy to do. I use a wireless optical mouse.

                              DW is a mote-a-phobe, too.

To me, those things are the natural state of things.

Remote is a whole nuther matter.
