DW is a mote-a-phobe, too.

To me, those things are the natural state of things.

Remote is a whole nuther matter.

It just always looks filthy. A man designed this machine. No woman would have a glossy keyboard area.

The touchpad is the nasty thing and really seems to be model specific. This is the 1545 but Dell Support has had a few people report that there is no where to disable it.

I'm tempted to purchase the Vostro 13. If they sold those in Best Buy this one would have an "accident" and I'd use my insurance towards one.

I went out and bought a computer this morning. It is a HP laptop, DV6-3120, supposedly 4 GB and 500 gb Harddrive. with bluetooth,lots of other features which I know nothing about. i will be screaming for help soon.

I haven't opened the box yet. I need to set it up.

I also bought a router, which I just set up, and a wireless mouse. I have an old laptop and always had trouble working the keyboard because I kept hitting the touchpad.

Speaking of routers, ours is always in the same place, as am I and the computer. Signal strength varies from Low to Very Good.

That is pretty common. Like you, my router, computer, and I are in the same spots. The signal strength varies from "excellent" to "low". The vast majority of the time it is "very good".

My computer is in my bedroom and the router is in my office some 50 feet away through 4 walls so I can't complain.
