Both my wife and I just got nooks and trying to learn as much as we can about them. The reason we went with Nook is that we can borrow books from our local library. I haven't used Barnes & Noble a lot, most of my hard back book purchases have been with Amazon.

One question, should we have the books on the same B&N account, so that when we buy books, either one of us can down load and read them?

Anything else, I should know?

My husband and I share both a bn.com and audible account and it works well. He logs in on his computer and updates his devices and I do likewise with mine. You can also have the nook app on your computer, ipod touch or android smartphone and read on those devices as well. If a book shows up on your shelf and you're not interested in reading it, just ignore it or move it elsewhere.
I have a nook color, and love it. Although it's heavier than the nook or kindle, I like the ability to have full internet access. I've downloaded free and cheap books off google as well as via the library. Enjoy!

Does the Nook color have the same ability to read outside, in the sun as the e-ink displays?

I my nook outside all the time with no problem. When looking for books go to smashwords.com they have many cheap or free books that can be loaded on the nook.
