  • Computer got hit hard with a virus

Wish I could say that I was someplace naughty when I got a computer virus/Trojan/hack program, but it was mostly TS4M, a couple stock trading sites and sites to search for a new cell phone, but somewhere I got hit hard. This happened at work which made it worse. The several virus programs would each catch some, but not all. Then all .exe programs (word, outlook, AutoCAD, even solitar) would no longer work. The IT person (gave me lots of dirty looks) restored the system to an earlier date.

And in the process, my debit card was used to order Netflix. I put a stop to that with Netflix, but Netflix won't refund the money without a dispute being filled by the bank. With the new Netflix charges and that little issue, I will be canceling my subscription with them. I am getting a new card from the bank, but not happy with them either, they were the first call but simply told me to call Netflix to have it fixed.

I will watching my credit cards and credit information well for a period of time.

I open the same emails at home or work. I know better to open attachments, so that wasn't the problem. Actually, I think it is when I was looking for cell phone reviews. Some link or something I scrolled over gave me the problem.

Odd thing is that I do more research and web site hits at home and have never had a problem with virus or other problem. I have a full Norton version on my home computers. I don't know what is protecting at work, but not enough.

They use malwarebytes and superantivirus to correct problems once they are on the computer, but I don't know what are they using to keep the problem from showing up in the first place.

I got a virus last week. Not sure from where. It took all the items on the desktop-gone....Called IT who finally found the items-they were hidden not gone-thank goodness. It was a malware attack...
