Let's see, I believe it was the NAV04 fiasco that ended it for us.

I'm sour on AVG, as I got a bunch of crap while using it on this PC I'm posting on right now. It took all kinds of anti V & M software to get it back to normal again. I now have Kaspersky on one laptop, Norton on the new laptop and Avast on this PC. The old PC still has AVG, but all we used that for in the past year is off-line projects.
I use Norton Internet Security 2012. I purchase it each year for $20.00 and it is well worth it. Norton used to be terrible but they straightened it out a couple years ago and are now rated very highly. I have been using it for the past 3 years now.
For those using Norton Internet Security, there is a free upgrade available now to the 2012 version. Just click on "Check for New Version" in your current version. It is very easy to upgrade and all your settings are retained. You do NOT have to uninstall your current version.

So, AVG is good for offline viruses.
In 2011 I have had a couple of cases of something getting through AVG, and System Restore, followed by a scan, resolved them.
I believe Ole POC is running necked.

I downloaded it on my wifes computer but have to restart it in order for it to work. I will get to it soon
I assume it is huge, as it's been getting huger every year.
Did it auto-delete 2011?

The internet will be much better for you once you get ride of the 2400 baud modem and upgrade to the 9600.
I started with a 300 baud and a Commodore 64. I have upgraded several times since then.
I really love it when you talk all techy.
